  1. Both interesting lists…..

I don’t know that I agree with everything from the 1st article (21st century) though, though I’m sure most of it applies to most people, which is all an article can really hope for 🙂

A lot of the problems with socializing with today’s modern technology is that people haven’t adapted to the technology, and the technology is still in its infancy. Videophone will replace text message, and soon we’ll see those subtle expressions once again – even online. I think a lot of those pains are actually growing pains related to the growth of technology. Also, not everyone chooses to use the latest technology (I don’t have a cellphone, my grandma doesn’t have email), so that thwarts a social life that much more to someone who tends to use those tools. But that will probably all go away. At one point I’m sure nearly everybody will have access something that is way better than a phone – or email.

  2. “VideoPhone will replace the text message,…”

I’m not so sure. The way I see it VideoPhone >> Voice Phone >> Text message. However, the way trends have been going, it seems that the text message is becoming more prevalent than the voice message or voice call. I don’t see adding video changing that trend. While this trend only recently began here, this has been happening overseas for many years.

IM has given way to Twitter. Sure, larger audience with one message, but less one on one interaction.
